Arizona Medical-Marijuana Patients Can Now Buy Cannabis Legally in Las Vegas and Reno

Arizona's medical-marijuana patients now can patronize newly opened dispensaries in Reno and Las Vegas and possess up to 2.5 ounces anywhere in Nevada.

Arizona, like some of the other 23 states with medical-marijuana laws, allows people with valid medical cards from other states to legally possess marijuana in Arizona, but they can't legally buy it at Arizona dispensaries.

Nevada apparently is the only state that allows its dispensaries to sell to patients from other states. And now its dispensaries have begun to open, greatly expanding where Arizona's 80,000 patients can legally buy cannabis.

Henderson approves 4th medical marijuana dispensary

The Henderson City Council approved a medical marijuana dispensary Tuesday night that plans to open on Eastern Avenue, south of the 215 Beltway.

The Source Henderson becomes the fourth dispensary approved in the city, three of which are within about two miles of each other.

None have opened yet. Clark County has only one dispensary in business, Euphoria Wellness in the southwest Las Vegas Valley.

Andrew Jolley, the co-owner and CEO of The Source's parent company, said the dispensary plans to apply for building permits in a few weeks and could be open by the new year.

"Our partner owns the shopping center," Jolley told the council with a smile. "That always helps."

Do You Need A Medical Marijuana Consultant?

RENO, NV - Several licensed medical marijuana dispensaries have opened up in the Reno area recently. Currently, there are approximately 10,000 Nevadans with patient cards who can gain entrance into those shops. Nevada’s Department of Public and Behavioral Health is noticing a trend. While the activity is not illegal, it is not necessary for all patients, and can cause confusion.

There is only a limited number of medical marijuana dispensaries in Washoe County. They aren't open to the general public, rather those patients who upon a doctor's recommendation receive a state-issued ID and make their way in to the shop.

Located amid medical offices east of downtown Reno, Sierra Wellness Connection could be mistaken for a suburban pharmacy. But it deals in Purple Kush and Sour Diesel instead of ibuprofen and Sudafed.

That’s the point, said Steve Rausch, vice president of the first medical marijuana dispensary set to open in Reno, at 1605 E. Second St., near Renown Regional Medical Center, on Wednesday.

First marijuana dispensary in Las Vegas area opening Monday

Fifteen years after medical marijuana was legalized in Nevada, Clark County’s first retail dispensary plans to open to the public Monday.

Euphoria Wellness, 7780 S. Jones Blvd., will begin selling to patients at 10 a.m. Monday. To help contend with expected high demand, only 250 people who have pre-registered will be allowed to buy marijuana and cannabis-infused products on each of the first two days.

On Wednesday, the dispensary will be open to any licensed cardholder, of which there are about 9,500 statewide. Medical marijuana cardholders from other states also will be able to shop at Nevada dispensaries.

First Medical Marijuana Dispensary In Las Vegas To Open Tomorrow

A lot of marijuana industry members have had their eyes on Las Vegas for a long time. Medical marijuana dispensaries are set to open all over Nevada in the near future, and all of them will be able to sell to tourists from other states that are valid medical marijuana patients in their home states. Considering how many tourists visit Las Vegas, it could become the medical marijuana sales capital of the world fairly quickly. The first dispensary to open in Nevada was in Sparks, but the first medical marijuana dispensary in Las Vegas will be Euphoria, which opens its doors tomorrow. Per Marijuana Business Daily:
