Kush, an emerging leader in the Cannabis and Hemp marketplace, has announced plans to file an information statement pursuant to Regulation A for consideration by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Upon being declared effective, Kush will conduct a Regulation A offering of its common stock and thereafter seek a stock trading symbol for its common shares. Earth Day event starts April 23 at 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Idlewild Park.

Marijuana Business Investing: The Basics On Debt vs. Equity

Many of my firm’s cannabis clients are raising money right now. Out-of-state investors looking for a place to deploy capital are looking hard at Oregon (which recently abolished residency requirements to participate in its cannabis industry), and some are already starting to lay the groundwork for pending recreational legalization in Nevada and California. Even more established markets, like Washington and Colorado, are seeing an uptick in corporate entities trying to bring in new money.

Las Vegas: Medical marijuana grower names strain after Sen. Segerblom

A licensed Nevada marijuana grower is naming one of his new potent strains after the state lawmaker he thinks helped make medical marijuana possible.

Segerblom championed the medical marijuana cause in the 2013 Nevada Legislature. He says he agreed to have his name on the strain in hopes of eliminating negative perceptions about marijuana. The Las Vegas Sun reports that on Friday Euphoria Wellness in Las Vegas will begin selling Segerblom Haze in honor of Sen. Tick Segerblom. The strain has 27 percent THC, making it the dispensary's second most potent strain.

Segerblom says he does not have a medical marijuana card and will not be sampling his namesake, though he will be at the dispensary Friday morning when it goes on sale.

Medical Marijuana Might Be a Boon for North Las Vegas

A $1 billion electric car plant and a futuristic transportation test track are among developments North Las Vegas hopes will pay off and diversify its economy.

There’s another, greener, economic development that officials hope will fatten the city’s wallet.

The city has received more state provisional licenses for growing and producing medical marijuana products than Henderson and Las Vegas combined. The financially ailing city hopes those licenses lead to big bucks.

State law currently limits Clark County to 40 licensed dispensaries, including four in North Las Vegas, but there is no limit on grow houses or production operations.

How Cannabis-Friendly Is Your State?

Ever wonder how your state stands up to the others in terms of marijuana tolerance? We don't mean how much your state can smoke, but how tolerant the locals are toward cannabis. The real-estate website Estately has the answer.

Using specialized metrics, they put together rankings for all 50 states in their "Marijuana Enthusiasm Index." The criteria are: the percentage of monthly marijuana users, the average price of cannabis, the average number of marijuana-related Google searches, the legal status of marijuana and expressions of public interest (based on Facebook user data).

Here are five interesting findings.

The Man Mapping the Marijuana Genome Is Changing the Weed Game

Because he’s a scientist, not a back-slapping venture capitalist, Mowgli Holmes loathes using the term networking to describe even the portion of his job that entails shaking hands in the cannabis industry. But it was networking that brought the chief scientific officer of Phylos Bioscience in Portland, Oregon, to Las Vegas in November 2014 to attend the Marijuana Business Conference and Expo—and to smoke a massive joint with one of the cannabis movement’s legends, Ohio lawyer Don Wirtshafter.
