A review last week by the Washington Post shows a statistically insignificant majority in favor of legalizing so-called “recreational” marijuana in the five states that will be voting on it on election day: California, Massachusetts, Nevada, Maine, Arizona. The five states were obviously specifically selected by the pot lobby as the next to join the Portlandia states of Oregon and Washington, as well as libertarian Alaska, and the new spring-break destination Colorado as the only states to completely decriminalize marijuana.

The 5th Annual Marijuana Business Conference & Expo will be hosted at The Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada next month; however, according to a memo sent to Caesar employees (Caesar’s owns The Rio), individuals caught possessing cannabis will be turned over to Metro Las Vegas Police.

The memo, which was shared by Denver, Colorado-based Hoban Law Group, reads in part:

As many as five states could approve its recreational use this November, potentially signaling a point of no return for legalized pot.

The Basics

Passage of Question 2 will allow individuals in Nevada over the age of 21 to lawfully purchase, possess, and consume up to one ounce of cannabis flower or one-eighth of concentrated cannabis.

Individuals can also cultivate up to six cannabis plants for personal use, so long as cultivation takes place in an enclosed area with a lock.
