Can you overdose on CBD?

While it may not be known to many, the truth is that Cannabis, also known as the Marijuana plant, has been cultivated for its medicinal, physical, and psychoactive properties for thousands of years.

Old records say that the first medicinal use of the cannabis plant could date back to 2000 BC when the then emperor of China Shen Neng drank marijuana tea to treat various ailments like poor memory, gout, malaria, etc

Ottawa paid $75M for veterans' cannabis last year, could pay $100M this year

The federal government shelled out a record $75 million to cover the cost of medical marijuana for veterans in the last fiscal year — and it is on track to spend nearly $100 million this year.

The figures from Veterans Affairs Canada come despite the government having cited rising costs and a lack of scientific evidence about the drug’s medical benefits for cutting how much cannabis it would cover for veterans.

Unless a veteran gets a special medical exemption, the government will reimburse veterans for a maximum three grams of medical marijuana per day, which is down from a previous maximum of 10 grams.

Microdosing marijuana: What doctors say is the best way to consume

Although microdosing may go against the grain of the old time stoner philosophy, doctors say that finding the “minimum effective dose” is the key to medical treatment.

There are those cannabis connoisseurs who enjoy getting super stoned at the end of a long day at the office, while others are now embracing an emerging trend called microdosing, a procedure that allows the user to moderate their mind by taking small doses throughout the day.

U.S. reverses lifetime ban on Canadian woman who crossed border with CBD oil, her lawyer says

Less than two weeks after a Canadian woman was barred from entering the United States after she was found with cannabidiol (CBD) oil at the border, her lawyer says her lifetime ban from entering the states has been reversed in what he is calling a "best-case scenario."

The 21-year-old, who has asked not to be identified by CBC News, was crossing the border between B.C. and Washington state last month when CBD oil was found in her backpack.

CBD is a non-psychoactive product of the cannabis plant, and is used by the woman to treat the painful side-effects of scoliosis.

Lose weight with marijuana?

Thomas Clark, PhD, has always specialized in mosquitoes, but now he's being distracted by marijuana. Outside of his regular job as professor and chief of biological sciences at Indiana University, South Bend, he is increasingly called upon to lecture about the benefits of cannabis in humans — especially the potential for weed as a weight loss aid.

People opting for CBD instead of medical treatments for bipolar disorder ‘not treated at all’, says experts

CBD has become quite the medical miracle since the United States legalized hemp-derived cannabinoids and removed it from the list of Controlled Substances back in December 2018. More and more countries seem to take a step forward into a future of better medical treatments with enhanced potency to cure life threatening ailments like Cancer.

Though many people have resorted to CBD for reducing stress, anxiety, depression, swelling, pain, inflammation and even speedy recovery from accidents, it is not established as a fact how impactful CBD really is.

Medical marijuana vs recreational marijuana: What’s the difference?

More and more states have been legalizing marijuana in the United States for medicinal use, but only a fraction of those states have made the use of recreational marijuana legal. The majority of the people that support the legalization of marijuana are in favor for the way that it can help with many health conditions, treating pain and soothing the side effects of cancer treatment. However, there are some people that believe that using it recreationally is inappropriate, and that even allowing adults to smoke it will ultimately lead to the country’s demise.

Cannabis stocks: the future is medical

For a long time, I have been down on cannabis stocks. I have looked only to their poor earnings, the hype surrounding them, and the recreational aspect of the products.

I am still not convinced that they will be able to be competitive on a recreational level due to the ease with which the product can be replicated by individuals and smaller companies as well as the moral implications of selling narcotics.

But there is one aspect of cannabis which has recently gained legitimacy in my mind, and that is the utilitarian value of their medical effects.

My relatively recent turnaround in this department has come as a result of a close friend that had developed an illness that was not responding well to conventional treatments.
