There was a moment in the first US presidential debate when lots of people asked themselves: "Did Trump just say 'bigly'?" 

Followed quickly by: "Is that even a word?"

It came during a discussion on fiscal policy, when, Donald Trump told his opponent: "I'm going to cut taxes bigly, and you're going to raise taxes bigly." Or so many people thought, anyway.

American viewers were in for a surprise on Thursday night when Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump allowed host Jimmy Fallon to tousle his hair on The Tonight Show. Donald Trump and his allies have been questioning Hillary Clinton's health in recent days, but Trump's health is at least as much a mystery, Stephen Colbert said on Monday's Late Show. "I mean, he's got the kind of glow you can only get from being in top shape, or after vacationing at Chernobyl." All we really know about Trump's health is from a one-page note his physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, wrote last December, Colbert added, though "a note from his doctor should be enough — it's how he got out of Vietnam."

John Oliver had a strong message for Donald Trump during his HBO show Sunday night: "drop out" of the race.

On his "Last Week Tonight", Oliver said Trump had come to a "fork in the road" with the resignation of his campaign manager, Paul Manafort, and that he believed the Republican nominee only had two options. One, either continue with his campaign and potentially lose -- and, he said, a loss would be "disastrous" for Trump's brand or simply end it now.
