2 marijuana stocks to watch to end the month

The past few months in the pot stock market have been less than kind for investors. Well, pot stocks do seem to be a fast-paced market, volatility seems to strike at certain times. This is due to a variety of factors including speculation and the infancy of the market overall. One of the key positives to note is that the industry is shifting toward reaching a higher level of maturity overall. With this maturity level should come some stabilization of the rapid price action we have seen.

Tilray supports first human study evaluating cannabis to tackle side-effect caused by breast cancer treatment

A new study is testing for the first time the ability of cannabis to eliminate a major side-effect of breast cancer treatment.

The Nanaimo-based Tilray, Inc., said it has successfully imported medical cannabis into the U.S. for use in a clinical trial aimed at providing relief to people suffering from taxane-induced peripheral neuropathy.

TIPN, a condition that affects more than 67 per cent of women who go undergo chemotherapy, is a progressive condition that can cause pain and numbness in the hands and feet. It often forces doctors to stop the breast cancer treatment early, leading to less effective results. Although there is currently no effective treatment for the condition, use of cannabis has shown promise in tests on mice.

Bonify's pot sales licence reinstate by Health Canada after 8-month suspension

Health Canada is reinstating Winnipeg-based Bonify Holdings Corp.’s licence to sell legal pot in Canada, the first time the federal regulator has restored a suspended licence for a cannabis producer.

Bonify's licence to sell legal cannabis in Canada was suspended in February after a third-party investigation revealed the company hired a broker to buy roughly 200 kilograms of pot that originated from an unauthorized source and was eventually sold into the Saskatchewan market.

RavenQuest BioMed Inc., which was retained by Bonify in late 2018 to help remain in compliance with regulators, said in a statement Wednesday it received the company’s new cannabis sales licence.

Same-day pot delivery app to launch in Winnipeg

Cannabis consumption is about to get a whole lot more convenient in Winnipeg, Man., with the coming launch of a new same-day cannabis delivery service.

Super Anytime is set to launch in the province in November or December to help Winnipegers avoid the harsh winter and still get their bud.

The app/website will work similar to food delivery apps, such as Uber Eats or Skip the Dishes, and will be available on iOS and Android.

While visiting the app/website, you select the cannabis product you would like that is available at retailers close by and check out at the retailer’s website. The delivery is then handled by a third-party of the retailer’s choosing, such as cannabis delivery service Pineapple Express, Canada Post or Purolator.

Canadian edibles companies set their sights on customer education, safe consumption

Though they aren’t on the shelves yet – seeing as Health Canada has established a mandatory 60-day processing period after legalization day on Oct. 17 – companies are busy becoming licensed and getting their products approved in the hopes of introducing their edibles early next year.

Olli Brands is one such company with an eye to enter the space with a “high-end” roster of products developed out of their 11,200-square-foot facility in Etobicoke, Ontario.
