Aussie delivery start-up Swift is distributing weed in the US

After signing some large US partners early this year, Melbourne delivery software start-up Swift needed to set up an office to support their fast growth in the US.

Now on top of the grocery chains, pizza stores and alcohol delivery start-ups they are already working with, they have brought medical marijuana distributors on board too.

“One of the companies we work with are the Uber for medical marijuana delivery,” co-founder and CEO, Joel Macdonald (pictured) revealed.

“Another is a much larger network that acts as the distribution aggregator between local dispensaries in greater Los Angeles area.”

Swift makes it super easy for businesses to dispatch, track and manage their mobile workforce.

Colorado: First State to Make More Money off Marijuana than Alcohol

The first seven months of 2015 have been record breaking for Colorado. The state has already generated almost as much tax revenue from marijuana when compared to 2014. Colorado is on pace to double its numbers from last year and generate $125 million in tax revenue during 2015. Our analysts expect this number to continue to move higher year-over-year and we think this just the start of something big.

Who's bankrolling the push for pot

A fashion designer, ex boy band singer and former Bengal are all high on Issue 3.

They support a measure that would make Ohio the fifth state in the union to allow weed for recreational use.

The fire for the measure is lit by Responsible Ohio, but opponents call Issue 3 a money grab designed to make a small group of rich people even richer.

Investors deny those claims, saying the measure could generate millions in tax revenue and thousands of jobs.

Issue 3 would create a constitutional amendment legalizing pot for recreational and medicinal use. It could also create a multi-billion dollar industry.

Cincinnati native Nick Lachey was the front man for 98 Degrees and he’s part of one group of investors looking to end the pot prohibition.

New rules for marijuana industry effective today

The new law is going to force nearly all medical marijuana dispensaries in our area to close their doors if they don’t reapply for a recreational license.

Washington state on Wednesday began the process of aligning the medical marijuana market with the existing recreational market for cannabis. Existing recreational marijuana stores will be able to apply for an endorsement to sell medical marijuana if they are interested.

Lawsuits over whether or not the treatment was a wise choice could put doctors’ medical certification in jeopardy, especially with how little is known about marijuana-related side effects.

New legislation in Lansing is trying to add more regulation to medical marijuana in Michigan.
