Woody Harrelson denied Hawaii marijuana license - here's the list of approved licensees

Woody Harrelson has been reportedly denied a medical-marijuana dispensary license.

The 54-year-old actor applied for the licence back in February in Honolulu County on behalf of his company, Simply Organic Living, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Harrelson was among 66 Hawaii residents who applied to open the state's first medical-marijuana dispensaries.

Applicants were required to have USD 1 million cash, plus USD 100,000 for each of their planned dispensary locations. They also must have been residents of Hawaii for more than five years.

'Marijuana Tampon' Might Be the End of Period Cramps

Period cramps suck and can turn some women’s menstruation into a monthly encounter with severe and intense pain. According to the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, at least half of all women who get their periods experience one or two days of cramping, and while women try lots of ways to relieve the issue, from Midol to acupuncture and beyond, not everything works for everyone, making almost any new proposed solution worth investigation. Enter Foria Relief, a THC-infused suppository that’s come to be known as the "weed tampon.” The company says it won’t get you—or your vagina—high, but it might be the cure for what menstrually ails you.

How will marijuana businesses handle their cash? Outside companies might help

Sara Williams just isn’t that comfortable with handling $10 million in cash.

Williams is the CEO of Midnight Greenery, a retail store she and co-owner Tina Smith plan to open in Anchorage this year to sell cannabis flowers, concentrates, oils, edibles and other products.

But like most who are eager to get into Alaska’s marijuana industry, Williams is worried about what to do with all the incoming cash that she can’t keep in a bank -- especially if business goes well.

Most banks want nothing to do with marijuana businesses because cannabis is still illegal at the federal level. That means businesses like Midnight Greenery will have to deal almost entirely with cash.

'Grown in Washington D.C.': The marijuana farms near US power hub

WASHINGTON: Security cameras and barbed wire suggested this was the right place -- the old warehouse on a dead-end street not far from the White House that hosts one of the handful of legal marijuana farms in the US capital.

"We're going to do the visit with a panic button... in case of a break-in," Matt Lawson-Baker, the co-owner of Alternative Solutions, told AFP.

Alternative Solutions is one of seven facilities in Washington authorized to grow medical marijuana for nearly 3,700 local patients.
