Reportedly the largest such show in New England, attendees received advice on advocating for the drug, growing and handling legal issues.

Understanding Rapidly Advancing Cannabis Technologies

Cannabis technologies of all kinds have come a long way in even just a few short years. For one instance, we’ve talked about LED lights in the past. As previously mentioned, LED lights and induction lights are excellent for cloning and vegetative state, but not for flowering at this point. There was a time, though, that LED lights weren’t good to use at any stage of the cannabis growing process. Innovative tech companies will no doubt get LED lights to the point where they’re great for flowering; but as of right now, you’ll likely be hard pressed to find large scale facilities using an LED bank over their flowering plants.

Software for the marijuana industry set to yield high returns

Is there software in the burgeoning legal marijuana industry? Just a dab. With four states offering legal marijuana, and more than 20 with medical or decriminalized cannabis laws, the business of selling the plant and its derivatives is growing every year.

Naturally, software developers, vendors and startups alike are all looking to cash in on the boom. Silicon Valley, itself located in a state with legalized medical marijuana, has even produced a few pot startups.

Leafly, for example, offers an index of pot shops, crowdsourced information on the powers and effects of various strains, and coverage of the industry as a whole, no different than a wine blog or beer magazine.

Mapping Marijuana: CRE Tech Startup Focuses on Green Zones

My earliest memory is of my first job. I worked in my family’s junkyard. My first task was to drag around a magnet by a string to pick up any nails and screws that could pop a tire. I took pride in it. I collected the nuts, screws and metal shavings from my trusty magnet and kept them as tiny trophies. My elementary school friends would talk about their chores with disgust. When they asked me what my allowance was, I would tell them “I don’t get an allowance. I have a job. I save tires.”
