Three cannabis dispensaries on Millbrook First Nation, N.S., have been raided by the RCMP.

A “significant amount” of cannabis, cannabis products and cash were seized, according to an RCMP release.

The raids were conducted late last week by the Colchester District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit and the General Investigation Section, with support from Millbrook RCMP, Bible Hill RCMP and the Criminal Intelligence Service of Nova Scotia.

Canada House Clinics, formerly known as Marijuana For Trauma, was founded in 2013 by Canadian Forces veterans Fabian Henry and Mike Southwell.

Since its inception, the organization has focused on alternative treatment options for Canadians and veterans.

That mission is now expanding as the company has announced it has acquired Margaree Health Group Inc., a medical cannabis clinic that serves more than 350 veterans across Nova Scotia.

SYDNEY MINES, N.S. — Cannabis connoisseurs in Cape Breton will soon have a plethora of retail outlets from which to pick up their desired product.

From the opening of the first cannabis stores in 2018 until last autumn, the Nova Scotia Liquor Corp.’s busy Sydney River outlet was the only place to purchase legal cannabis in Cape Breton.

But that was then. Now there are four such stores. And by the end of 2021, the number of cannabis retail outlets on Cape Breton Island will total nine.

Nova Scotia investigators looking at women with pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) found that using more cannabis appeared to be a coping motive for dealing with depressed mood before and during menstruation.

The observational study involved using data from the electronic daily diaries of 69 naturally cycling female cannabis users with or without retrospectively identified PMDD over 32 days, notes the research paper in Addiction.

KENTVILLE, N.S. — 

A Kentville company is growing a craft cannabis operation that it says is putting East Coast cannabis on the map.

Robinsons Cannabis opened its 2,573 square metre, state-of-the-art indoor cultivation facility in the Kentville Industrial Park in July 2020, after purchasing land for the plant in 2017.

Robinsons Cannabis is part of Auxly Cannabis Group, a publicly-traded company headquartered in Toronto. A spokesperson said Auxly operates some of Canada's most popular cannabis brands, including Robinsons, Foray, Back Forty, Kolab Project and Dosecann.
