Italy: Legalize cannabis you can, says the National Anti-Mafia Directorate

In Italy cannabis it is now as widespread as wine, spirits and cigarettes so we might as well accept it and change strategy. As is fashionable now. Perhaps to allow the State to save a part of human and technological resources that involve increasing costs. And on the other hand (why not?) To check the legality of a product that is distributed by the State and removed from the Mafia, it is estimated that could give an increase in taxes of 7-10 billion euro a year. A maneuver of adjustment that today would solve all the problems with Europe, which looks to our accounts to the last euro.

Here Comes Italy: The Next Country to Legalize Marijuana?

An effort to legalize marijuana is getting underway in the Italian parliament, with some 60 lawmakers having signed onto a motion to do just that by the time it was rolled out three weeks ago. Now, the "all party" group is getting to work on the twin tasks of drafting an actual bill and getting it enacted into law.

The effort is being led by Sen. Benedetto Della Vedova, who is also Italy's undersecretary of state for foreign affairs. Della Vedova was a long-time member of the country's Nonviolent Radical Party, but was elected to parliament as a member of the centrist Scelta Civica.
