German Patients Still Waiting for Medical Marijuana

After a long period of debate, the federal government of Germany recently announced a draft of its medical cannabis Bill which is titled “Cannabis as Medicine.” Political decision makers seem to realize the medical benefits of Cannabis and have begun moving towards a regulated use for therapeutic purposes.

For many years, patients had to ask for “an exemption license” from the government, in order to be able to legally buy and use cannabis – imported mostly from the Netherlands.

But the recently proposed legal developments in Germany’s Narcotics Act will reform current status and will allow the cultivation of cannabis, so that the costs would be much lower than now.
