In its opening salvo of the 2016 campaign, Drug Free Florida claims the medical marijuana proposal on the November ballot is "still a scam to legalize pot."

The group, which successfully stopped a similiar amendment in 2014, released its first ad Monday under the banner of the 'Vote No on 2' campaign. It ties the proposed amendment to the permissive medical marijuana law in California.

For a moment, Eugene Monroe felt paralyzed. It was December, and the offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens was sitting in a chair, recovering from a recent shoulder surgery and trying to keep his body propped up as his doctors had recommended.

He thought about going to the kitchen but felt completely stuck in place. 

“I just couldn’t even get up. I just struggled. I lost where I was for a moment,” the 29-year-old recalled, adding: “I just didn’t feel like myself at all.”

A Colorado Springs-area school district will now allow students who rely on medical marijuana to take doses at school.

The Falcon District 49 school board unanimously approved the policy Thursday.

Parents or state-licensed caregivers, but not school staffers, would be allowed to give students non-inhalable forms of marijuana, such as edibles and oils.

All Colorado schools would be required to allow such medical marijuana use under a bill passed by state lawmakers and awaiting the governor’s signature. Gov. John Hickenlooper has said he supports it.

Falcon’s policy was inspired by the suspension of a disabled student who accidentally brought cannabis pills to school in his lunch. He uses medical marijuana to treat his seizures.

These days, it feels like everyone in Bogota, the capital of Colombia, is talking about cannabis. 

A poll was recently released which found that 55% of polled Maine voters support marijuana legalization. That’s a similar result to other polls I have seen out of Maine. That’s good right? Especially considering that marijuana legalization is going to be on the ballot in Maine in November. Not according to marijuana opponents. When the recent poll results were released by Critical Insights, Scott Gagnon of Project Sam had the following to say, per Bangor Daily News:
