California’s Favorite Cannabis Delivery Startup Has 2016’s Weed Trends Hidden in Its Sales Data

Gorilla Glue #4 and vaporizer cartridges have Eaze drivers busy in the Golden State.

With recreational use already legal, and a more open retail market coming next year, California has one of, if not the biggest cannabis market in the world. To serve that market, weed delivery startup Eaze came on the scene in 2014, and has since amassed a clientele of 25,000 medical customers. Because no central marijuana database or strict regulation exists yet, a look at Eaze’s sales date and a survey of 5,000 users - or their “State of Cannabis” report - gives some much needed insight into the buying habits of California’s medical marijuana patients.

Ireland: Report Recommends Use of Medicinal Cannabis

A report to be published later today is to recommend that medicinal cannabis be made available to patients with specified medical conditions.

It is among a number of recommendations contained in the Cannabis for Medical Use report, which is to be published by Minister for Health Simon Harris.

The report makes eight recommendations and was compiled by the Health Products Regulatory Authority.

It states that cannabis has potential therapeutic benefits, but there is a need for robust evidence to be generated through clinical research in patients.

Medicinal Cannabis: Italy's State-Approved Drug Baron Shares All

Col Antonio Medica is a state-approved drug baron. At the dauntingly named Military Pharmaceutical Plant in Florence, the colonel grows 100kg (220lb) of cannabis a year.

The crop itself is guarded in the depths of the plant by a series of locked doors. All visitors must wear protective clothing and face masks.

Just inside a final heavy door, a line of tape on the ground warns visitors not to go in any further. Beyond the line, several dozen rows of cannabis plants are flanked by lamps and fans.

Italy's logic is simple: in this country, medical marijuana is legal. It is prescribed for pain relief to patients with cancer or multiple sclerosis.

GW Pharma's Marijuana Drug Could Treat Brain Cancer

GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH) is already well on its way to winning the first-ever U.S. approval for a cannabis-derived therapy. But an early trial suggests that these treatments could also be an effective way to fight one of most devastating forms of brain cancers: glioblastoma multiforme.

New Mexico may allow medical marijuana for all veterans

Extensive revisions to New Mexico's medical marijuana program that would automatically allow all military veterans to qualify as patients are advancing in the state Legislature.

The Senate Judiciary Committee endorsed the proposed legislation on Wednesday despite objections from members to the veterans' eligibility provisions. The bill's next stop is the full Senate.

Other proposed changes to a 2007 law legalizing medical cannabis would add treatable medical conditions including substance abuse disorder. State registry cards for approved patients would require renewal every three years instead of annually.

Senate bill sponsor Cisco McSorley of Albuquerque says the provision for veterans addresses the stigma associated with post-traumatic stress disorder.

How close is Tennessee to legalizing medicinal marijuana?

How close is Tennessee to legalizing medicinal marijuana?

Arkansas is well on the way, and now legislation has been proposed in Nashville to do the exact same thing here in the Volunteer state.

FOX13 talked to city leaders and surprisingly they are on board with the legislation. We went to City Hall and spoke with the Chairman of the City Council.

We also spoke with the Chairman of the Shelby County Commission. Both men told us they would welcome medicinal marijuana right here in Memphis.

Hundreds of Texans try to convince lawmakers to recalibrate marijuana laws

Hundreds of Texans try to convince lawmakers to recalibrate marijuana laws

Hundreds of Texans lobbied lawmakers for marijuana policy reform on Wednesday at the State Capitol.

"It's not your 'stoners.'  You're looking at seniors, you're looking at people who are coming in with medical conditions," said Dawn Brooks with Texas NORML.

Last session, Governor Abbott signed off on a law that allows the limited use of cannabis oil which was a pretty big deal.  But only those with intractable epilepsy can take advantage of it.

The Governor made it clear he wasn't on board for much more leeway than that.

California: Contaminated Cannabis? UC Davis Researchers Find Mold, Fungi in Medical Marijuana

In uneasy news for medical marijuana users, UC Davis researchers have identified potentially lethal bacteria and mold on samples from 20 Northern California pot dispensaries, leading them to warn patients with weakened immune systems to avoid smoking, vaping or inhaling aerosolized cannabis.

“For the vast majority of cannabis users, this is not of great concern,” said Dr. George Thompson, professor in the UC Davis Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology. But those with weakened immune systems – such as from leukemia, lymphoma, AIDS or cancer treatments – could unwittingly be exposing themselves to serious lung infections when they smoke or vape medical marijuana. “We strongly advise them to avoid it,” Thompson said.
