Would You Try A Marijuana Facial?

Being a pothead is so en vogue right now, probably because it also can be totally healthy. Healthy enough that there's a spa devoted to the plant. Thank god, because we were tired of trying to claim smoking weed is healthy if you use coconut water instead of regular old tap in our bongs (and we were never quite sure if that was actually healthy for you in the first place).

Florida Health Officials Move Forward with Medical Marijuana Plans

Florida health officials have laid out a new process to implement the voter-approved constitutional amendment broadly legalizing medical marijuana, as they attempt to meet deadlines included in the November ballot measure.

The latest proposed rule came as the Department of Health awaits Gov. Rick Scott’s signature of a medical-marijuana bill adopted by lawmakers during a special session this month. That bill addressed major issues, such as how many companies will receive marijuana licenses and how many retail outlets they can run.

Lawmakers on Monday formally sent the bill (SB 8-A) to Scott, who has said he will sign it into law.

Ontario Medical Pot Coverage for OPSEU Workers

Where there’s smoke, there’s a benefits claim.

Turns out that’s the case with a new Ontario Public Sector Employees Union policy that will see its members covered for medical marijuana.

The new policy, announced Friday by OPSEU president Warren “Smokey” Thomas, will see union employees who have a doctor’s prescription reimbursed for a valid medical marijuana prescription.

“There are benefits to medical cannabis,” Thomas said. “We’ve been working with the (insurance) carrier that we have, SSQ, and it took a bit...so for certain illnesses it’s a hell of a lot better than every day drugs.”

Task force to examine medical marijuana in Tennessee

A task force consisting of state senators and representatives will soon take a harder look at issues around medical marijuana in Tennessee.

Lt. Governor Randy McNally and speaker Beth Harwell are responsible for appointing lawmakers to the task force. McNally expects those appointments to be made in July.

Rep. Jeremy Faison introduced a bill for medical marijuana in February. He's optimistic that this joint task force will help both educate the general public on the science of medical marijuana as well as educate lawmakers on the extent of the support to medical marijuana in Tennessee.

Can marijuana cure cancer? This company seeks the answer

Is marijuana good medicine for those suffering from cancer? Definitely. Even the federal government agrees that “cannabinoids may have benefits in the treatment of cancer-related side effects.” Can marijuana cure cancer? That answer remains elusive, but there are no clinical studies demonstrating that marijuana will remove cancerous tumors from the body.

CURE Pharmaceutical, a California-based technology company, revealed last month that it will be conducting a groundbreaking clinical study to test whether cannabis can kill or reduce cancerous cells.

Federal bill would protect medical marijuana states, provide access to vets

A bipartisan group of senators and representatives have reintroduced legislation that would enable states to set their own medical marijuana policies.

That is at odds with a letter U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions sent to congressional leaders, in which he asked that federal medical marijuana protections be reversed.

Booker addressed the Sessions letter, saying the Attorney General “misrepresents the facts” on medical marijuana.
