NDLEA Intercepts Cannabis-Laden Truck In Ogun, Nabs Two

The Ogun State command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has impounded a truck load of cannabis sativa packaged as biscuits and cheese balls.

The 3,542.25kg bags of banned narcotics were intercepted by officials of the NDLEA at the Odeda axis of Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government in Ogun State.

Two suspects – Ihenacho Chinweuba (27) and Uche Enuosa (33) – were arrested in connection with the seizure.

The Ogun NDLEA Commander, Bala Fagge, said the shipment was meant for consumption in Ogun and Lagos states.

“A white Mercedes Benz Truck with registration No: Lagos KJA132XN was intercepted at Odeda axis of Ijebu-Igbo, Ijebu North Local Government.

A national medical marijuana advocacy organization published a memo and model ordinance on Monday for California cities and counties, recommending that they regulate the cultivation of medical marijuana instead of banning it.

The memo and model ordinance are part of a project by Americans for Safe Access to support patients and advocates fighting bans on cultivation and pushing for local licensing and regulation of medical marijuana businesses.

Man argues DC marijuana laws make 'Kush Gods' pot brownie business legal

WASHINGTON (AP) — A man accused of running a business known as "Kush Gods" that openly sold marijuana brownies and other pot-laced edibles on the streets of Washington has been released from custody — and he's anything but apologetic.

District of Columbia police announced Tuesday that Nicholas Cunningham, 30, and an employee, Evonne Lidoff, 18, were facing misdemeanor charges of marijuana distribution. They were released after their initial court appearances and ordered to stay away from the nightlife districts where police say they were operating.

Florida poll: Almost all to vote in favor of medical marijuana amendment

The effort to legalize a wider use of medical marijuana in Florida has a lot of support, an Orlando Business Journal poll found.

In the unscientific poll, "Will you vote for or against medical marijuana in November 2016?" 91.5 percent of the 473 responses said, "I will vote for broadening medical marijuana use." The remaining 8.5 percent said, "I will vote against broadening medical marijuana use."

Brookline medical marijuana dispensary, operated by NETA, set to open in mid-January

A medical marijuana dispensary, operated by the same company that has one in Northampton, is set to open in mid-January in Brookline.

The town’s selectmen earlier this week handed a license to operate to a medical marijuana dispensary to the New England Treatment Access, Inc.

“There remain a few additional approvals to be issued before we begin serving patients, but this was the biggest hurdle and we are moving forward full steam ahead,” the company said in an email, adding that they expect to open halfway through January.

“For the first few weeks, we will be operating on an appointment-only basis to help ensure a smooth opening,” the company added.
