British Columbia: Nelson Man Hopes to Start Marijuana Farm Co-Op

Todd Veri envisions a network of 12 or more farms working together to grow marijuana outdoors.

An organic farmer in Nelson is hoping to create a marijuana farm co-op.

Organic farmer Todd Veri was inspired by the federal marijuana task force's report which said there will be a space for small to medium operations and organic product.

"I was expecting that we were going to get boxed out here in the Kootenays and then it was going to be all large agro-companies traded on the TSX and that such," he said.

Oregon Economic Forecast Includes Marijuana Projections For The First Time

Recreational marijuana sales and taxes were included in Oregon’s quarterly Economic and Revenue Forecast for the first time. The report came out Tuesday and projects an upward trend for marijuana revenue.

Even though voters passed the measure legalizing recreational marijuana in 2014, sales didn’t actually begin until October of the following year. With a limited amount of data, the Office of Economic Analysis drew on numbers from states that legalized recreational marijuana before Oregon did.

Poppy Grower Tasmanian Alkaloids to Expand into Medicinal Cannabis in Joint-Venture Deal with AusCann

Cannabis Almonds and Cashews By S.F.-Based Wish Show That Edibles Can Also Be Very Tasty

During a recent early morning flight, I skipped the complimentary honey-roasted almonds on the plane and indulged in these sugar-free, gluten-free, paleo-friendly nuts, made by San Francisco-based company Wish, instead — and found myself above the clouds in more ways than one.

The nuts I tried were made with Dragonfish Farms’ sativa strain Red Congolese, lab-tested by Steep Hill. But the company has recently released an indica version, made with Grandaddy Purple, which might be better for those wanting to doze off on a flight.

Bong Blowback: Tokyo Smoke Gets Heat from Cannabis Activists

Does the controversy over a $13,000 space-age water pipe signal the takeover of stoner culture by big-money hipster trendsetters?

What happens when you put an ex-Google employee, a hot Toronto design firm, substantial resources and some weed in a room together? A bong made of space-age steel that costs $13,000.

The Io Water Pipe is a collaboration between Tokyo Smoke, a high-end “lifestyle brand that brings sophistication and design to the cannabis space,” and Partisans, an award-winning Toronto-based design firm. The two companies’ cannabis-related line  – ranging from the porcelain Crater Pipe ($135) to the $13,000 stainless steel bong – “demonstrates how cannabis products can combine art and functionality.”
