This 1 pot stock is recession-proof

Yes, you read the title correctly, and no, I am not trying to pull your leg. This cannabis stock is truly that good.

I know what you’re thinking: How can a stock possibly be recession-proof?

To answer this question, let me ask you a question: If you buy something on sale, are you still getting a good deal if the sale is steeper the next day?

For some of you, buying an item and not paying the full price is good enough, but we are only human, and humans are greedy, so most of you would say you would prefer the steeper sale.

Truth be told, this stock is meant for greedy investors — the ones that won’t buy an item unless it is on the top-shelf of the clearance rack.

Zenabis to challenge alcohol with cannabis-infused beverages

Less than two months out from the legalization of edible and infused cannabis products in Canada, the BC-based company has signed an agreement with an undisclosed Canadian beverage technologycompany. This partner will supply Zenabis with plain water-soluble cannabis-infused inputs.

The announcement, sent out after trading hours on Monday (August 26), confirms that the company plans to develop its own drinks with an onset time of less than five minutes. Onset time refers to how long it takes for a beverage to affect the user.

The real reason pot stocks have plunged

If the scandals and controversies in the marijuana industry aren’t enough, the shares of the two largest cannabis companies are plummeting. If the downtrend continues, will the entire industry collapse?

In the last two months, Canopy (TSX:WEED)(NYSE:CGC) has fallen by 38%. Aurora (TSX:ACB)(NYSE:ACB) has dropped by 24%. The industry giants are losing steam, while investors’ interest is clearly fading.

3 pot stocks that could outsell Aurora Cannabis (TSX:ACB) in 2020

The last month has been incredibly interesting for cannabis investors, to say the least. While some pot producers out there were able to actually post a profit for once, others were still swamped with debt, with seemingly no end in sight.

As the cannabis industry is still in its infancy, there are some coming out ahead in the short term, but over the long haul there are certainly going to be fewer that will come out on top. I still believe one of those latter companies will be Aurora Cannabis (TSX:ACB)(NYSE:ACB).

Should you buy Aphria (TSX:APHA) on the dip?

August was looking like it would be a very good month for Aphria (TSX:APHA)(NYSE:APHA) after the stock soared on a good earnings report. However, since then, the stock has faltered, and it has dropped in value along with other cannabis stocks.

3 top cannabis stocks to buy in September

Many cannabis stocks have fallen well below their highs set earlier this year. Volatility in the overall stock market reflects a lot of uncertainty, with worries about the possibility of a recession and an intensifying trade war. The combination of these factors could make some investors afraid to buy any stock, much less a marijuana stock.

But taking a long-term view makes investing a lot less scary. If you think that the pot industry will expand dramatically over the next decade or more, investing in marijuana stocks during times of uncertainty could actually increase your returns over the long run.

4 cannabis stocks projected to grow sales by at least 355% next year

For years, promises of growth had been more than enough to send marijuana stock valuations higher. However, things changed when Canada legalized recreational marijuana and opened its doors to adult-use weed sales on Oct. 17, 2018. No longer are promises sufficient to send cannabis stock market caps higher. Instead, Wall Street is looking to marijuana stock operating results and allowing sales growth to do a lot of the talking.

2 pot stocks to watch before the end of August

The pot stocks have been fueled by the number of investments being done on a widespread scale. Not only does this pertain to acquisitions, but the number of investors looking to purchase cannabis stocks as well. All of this has led to one of the friendliest investor markets for finding pot stocks to watch.

Is Canada’s cannabis packaging excessive?

Have you ever ordered a gram of legal cannabis online in Canada only to have it arrive in a huge box that holds only a small plastic container?

Are you weary of a sea of plain packaging that features a stop sign-like red hexagon that signals the inclusion of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive component of cannabis?

After more than six months of legalized cannabis in Canada, the way in which legal cannabis is packaged is definitely a far cry from the dime bag packaging of illegal cannabis.

While the government is making safety their number one priority, there has been some not-too positive feedback about cannabis packaging, saying it is excessive and expressing concerns over its environmental impact.
