The VQ is Leading the Way in Convenient Vaping Technology

Society has become so reliant on some technology, such as cell phones, that very few people forget to take theirs with them when they leave the house. However, additional items – like a vaporizer, for instance – may not always be at the top of the “need to grab” priority list. These kind of common, daily annoyances and inconveniences inspire the birth of brilliant ideas – and in this case, that brilliant idea is a vaporizer that is built into a phone case and stays charged even while you’re out and about. Thus the creative minds behind this idea, Vaportronix, LLC, launch the first of its kind, iPhone case vaporizer called the VQ.

Marijuana Grow Lights Benefit from a Better Understanding of Energy Efficiency

As the marijuana industry continues to grow in the U.S. so does our understanding on the best ways to cultivate the plant. Former researcher for NASA, Neil Yorio, has discovered a revolutionary change in the way indoor plants can be grown. Yorio worked in NASA’s Bio Regenerative Life Support Systems program. His objective was to find ways to grow plants in space so that they could act as a life support system for longer missions. The plants would generate oxygen, get rid of carbon dioxide, purify water and, of course, could be eaten. Lighting is an essential consideration when growing, but the lights for these long missions needed to be lightweight which eliminated glass.

The Weed Industry Now Has Its Own White-Collar Crime

The weed industry is getting to know a time-honored tradition of the American business world: corporate fraud.

Federal prosecutors in Colorado last week charged the men behind FusionPharm, a publicly traded hydroponic marijuana farming company, with securities fraud over an alleged plot to pocket more than $12 million from the sale of phony shares.

Colorado medical pot law poised to add PTSD as qualifier

Marijuana pioneer Colorado is poised to add post-traumatic stress disorder to its medical marijuana program, joining 18 other states that consider PTSD a condition treatable by pot.

A panel of state lawmakers voted 5-0 Wednesday to endorse the addition of PTSD to Colorado’s 2000 medical pot law. The vote doesn’t have legal effect; it’s just a recommendation to the full Legislature, which resumes work in January. But the vote indicates a dramatic shift for a state that has allowed medical pot for more than a decade but hasn’t endorsed its use for PTSD.

UC Berkeley and marijuana tech company see if pot fights painkiller abuse

States with medical marijuana laws have a quarter less painkiller overdose deaths, and less painkiller prescriptions as well.

Now, leading research institution UC Berkeley, and a cannabis technology company HelloMD, hope to learn more about why.

UC Berkeley and HelloMD announced this week a study of how cannabis affects opioid use. The team will survey HelloMD’s patient database of around 100,000 regarding cannabis and how it affects patients’ use of opioids.

Canadian Laboratories Step up to Offer Pot-Safety Testing

Nearly 20 laboratories across Canada have come forward to offer independent testing of marijuana after the federal government changed its laws last month, allowing consumers to screen the product – which is often sold as medicine – for contaminants and potency.

Previously, the public was banned from getting access to Health Canada-accredited labs to ensure the safety and efficacy of the drug, which the government plans to legalize next spring. The move comes after concerns were raised that the federal government has watched idly as unregulated marijuana dispensaries proliferated across the country, reaping huge profits in a booming prelegalization market, though some of the products would not meet federal health standards.

Mike Lewis and the Growing Warriors

One of the things I love most about our industry is that it’s constantly being shaken up. Everywhere you look, there’s an individual or a company taking things to a previously unprecedented level. What’s even more amazing is the pace at which things are moving; a pace that’s only going to increase in speed as the industry becomes more open and recognized.

To help illustrate what I mean, think about this: If you have kids that are, say 5 years old or younger, there is a good chance that you won’t need to teach them how to drive. At least not the way you or I learned. It’s entirely possible that our kids will never have to grab a steering wheel or press a gas pedal.

Don’t worry, I’ll wait while you go ahead and put your brain back together.

Cannabis Delivery Pen Standardizes Doses

In the evolving field of medical marijuana, ensuring the proper dose can be a challenge. hmbldt’s dose pen is designed to offer consistent medication delivery to patients.

While medical marijuana is now legal in the majority of the U.S., the industry is new and still finding its footing in terms of standardization. With a wide variety of products and delivery forms (including inhalable, edible and topical products), patients can have trouble with dose consistency.

But strides are being made to provide patients with dosage control and consistency across batches, such as with encapsulated cannabis oil and vaporizer pens.

How Medical Marijuana Transformed Stoner Culture Into Big Business in the US

Investors, retailers, farmers and even delivery start-ups are cashing in on America's profitable new industry.

Marijuana has come a long way. In just a few years, the drug has gone from being banned across the US to being legalised not only for medical use, but recreational purposes too.

In 1996, California voters approved Proposition 215 – the first legislation legalising marijuana for medicinal purposes at state level. Since then, 25 US states have relaxed laws on medical cannabis use, with several – Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, Washington and the District of Columbia – allowing recreational use.
