HelloMD - one of the nation's largest communities of medical cannabis patients – announced today that it had received an investment of $200,000 from SeedInvest's 'Selections Fund'. The money will count towards the amount HelloMD is targeting to raise from the crowdfunding platform, as well as from accredited investors in its funding round.

Cannabinoids make up the key active components, and cannabis contains about 80 of them. The most well-known cannabinoids are cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is the main psychoactive component, and CBD could be useful for a range of medicinal applications. To prepare the various products—from edibles and liquids to smokables and lotions—the crucial chemical components must first be obtained from the plants.

Sadly, we probably won't see 100 percent THC nugs the size of watermelons anytime soon.

The future of the legal marijuana industry in the United States is as indeterminable as today’s weed is intoxicatingly potent.  With legal marijuana laws springing up in states across the country, speculation of an eventual corporate presence in the cannabis industry is taking hold. And some think that when Big Agriculture enters the picture, with it will come strains of genetically modified marijuana.

For B2B companies in the cannabis industry, the importance of educating prospects and sharing informative content cannot be understated. But perhaps even more importantly, it’s important that people actually see and interact with that content.
