Actor and comedian Adam Devine is behind a new campaign from Cann, a California-based cannabis-infused beverage company that recently launched in Canada.

As part of its launch of ‘Blue Rhuberry,’ Devine has partnered with Cann to create a series of ad spots.

The ad, dubbed ‘Cann We Be Friends’ is a spoof of the popular sitcom that lasted 10 seasons and can be viewed on Cann’s Instagram page.

The beverage, which contains rhubarb, raspberry, blue butterfly pea tea flavours, is available with a microdose of 5mg of THC, or THC-free.

“As a longtime investor in weed and Cann, I’m excited to partner with them on two new beverages — one with cannabis, and one without the fun,” Devine said in a statement.

“I often refer to myself as a ’50s dad, but instead of pouring a glass of scotch, I crack open a Cann. I can’t wait to get you all high — or not — with Blue Rhuberry.”

The top-selling THC-infused beverage in California, Cann is launched in Canada last month after raising more than $34 million in a Series A funding round.

The company’s celebrity backers include Kate Hudson, Rosario Dawson and Canadian actress Nina Dobrev, among others.

To launch in Canada, Cann partnered with Truss Beverage Co., a joint venture between MolsonCoors Canada and HEXO. The drinks are currently available in Ontario, where a 4-pack retails for $20.95 from the OCS, and are expected to launch in B.C. in the coming months.

“Over three years ago, we were told that consumers didn’t want cannabis in beverages and that they were, at best, a novelty, but this fundraise and our Canadian expansion indicate that microdosed beverages are here to stay,” Jake Bullock, co-founder and CEO of Cann said in a statement last month.

“Adults everywhere are desperate for an alternative to alcohol that actually delivers a social buzz and puts flavour first, full stop.”
