What was supposed to be a friendly Swedish-style 'fika' turned into drama when a man poisoned his two guests with a chocolate mud cake laced with cannabis.

If you have Swedish friends, you have probably one time or another been invited over to someone's house for a traditional 'fika'. This usually involves things like coffee and cake. It usually does not include drugs.

But a 25-year-old in the Södervärn area of Malmö, southern Sweden, is now being investigated by police after he served a cake seasoned with the drug to his two friends, a 55-year-old woman, and a 45-year-old man.

On Tuesday evening police received a call from the hospital from the confused male guest saying that he had been poisoned.

Snoop Dogg has accused Swedish police of racial profiling after he was stopped and briefly detained in the town of Uppsala on suspicion of possessing marijuana. He told Swedish fans he would “never be back to your country, it’s been real”.

Police pulled over the rapper’s vehicle on Saturday because he “seemed to be under the influence of narcotics. He was arrested and taken to the police station to take a urine test,” according to a police spokesman. He was released after a urine test, whose results are not yet known.

HELSINKI (AP) — Swedish police say they briefly held U.S. rapper Snoop Dogg on suspicion of drug use after he performed a concert near Stockholm.

National police spokesman Fredrik Wallen says a police patrol in the city of Uppsala, north of the capital, stopped a car in which Snoop Dog was a passenger on Saturday evening after the concert. Police questioned him at a local police station and tested him for suspected drug use.

Wallen said Sunday the rapper was later released and was free to leave the country. Test results would not be available for "some time," he said.

He declined to give further details.

Eight months after 570 cannabis plants were discovered at a disused school in Lysekil in western Sweden, two men have been sent to prison.

The men are the first to face jail since a series of raids on potential drug farms in Sweden and Denmark over the winter.

One was sentenced to three years in prison, with the second suspect jailed for two and a half years.

Gothenburg District Court heard that the pair had helped cultivate the plants at a factory inside an old school. 

According to regional newspaper GT, the 570 plants were found by police when they searched the property on December 2nd in 2014, enough to produce around 31 kilograms of marijuana.

Finnish-Swedish study analyzes link between psychotropic drugs and homicide risk.

A study analysing the Finnish homicide and prescription drug databases discovered that the use of certain drugs that affect the central nervous system are associated with an increased risk of committing a homicide. The greatest risk was associated with the use of painkillers and tranquillizing benzodiazepines, while anti-depressants were linked only to a slightly elevated risk. The study is the first one of its kind in the world.

Professor Jari Tiihonen's research group analysed the use of prescription drugs of 959 persons convicted of a homicide.
