Briefly stated: It uses a lot of water and power. Like all plant production, marijuana needs water and light for photosynthesis to grow. Marijuana’s resource usage isn’t significantly greater than that of other crops, if grown well. I want to note here that marijuana is a dried product. The resource consumption for a pound of dried product will always be many times higher than one sold full of water, for reasons that I hope are obvious.
