Rihanna Denies Launch of Branded Marijuana Line

Earlier this month several sources reported that Barbadian pop star Rihanna, who already sidelines as an actress, creative director of Puma, and owner of a beauty agency, supposedly revealed during an appearance at the High Times Cannabis Cup in Negril, Jamaica, that she is preparing to jump into the marijuana business. The line would be branded under the name “MaRihanna”—which Forbes refers to as clever and … sure, okay—and would include edibles as well as new strains like “Karibbean Kush, Haitian Haze and Jamaican High Grade.”

The story seems to have originated with 18karatreggae.com, which quoted the singer of hits like “Umbrella” and “Disturbia” as saying “MaRihanna by Rihanna is truly the first mainstream cannabis brand in the world and proud to be a pioneer … . MaRihanna is blazing a trail for the industry.” The line, again according to 18karatreggae.com, “will be available in Alaska, Oregon, Washington and Colorado...
