Medical marijuana could bring 100 jobs to Cecil County

PERRYVILLE — A Colorado-based company has started the hiring process for its Maryland medical marijuana operations, which could provide as many as 100 new jobs in Cecil County, a company spokeswoman said Wednesday.

“Management jobs will start in January,” said Emily Cohen, director of business development for The Clinic Maryland, LLC.

Afterward, production and laboratory jobs would be added.

The Clinic Maryland is not licensed to operate yet though. The new state law went into effect Sept. 15 and applications must be filed by Nov. 6. Cohen said the company will find out in December if it won one of 15 licenses allowed for medical marijuana production and dispensing.
