Australia: Desperate cancer patients pay up to $220 for one day’s worth of black market medicinal cannabis while waiting for legalisation

DESPERATE cancer patients are paying up to $220 for one day’s supply of black market medicinal cannabis while awaiting the “frustratingly slow” process of legalisation.

Health experts say there is enough scientifically proven benefit to warrant the drug’s legalisation in Australia.

But state governments have ordered trials despite more than 1600 research papers already completed around the world.

Scientists say medicinal cannabis eases nausea in chemotherapy patients, assists with pain and muscle spasticity and stimulates appetite in cancer and HIV patients.

Certain cannabis substances have also been found to kill cancer cells in the lab.

Medical marijuana is becoming more and more accepted as stories of its healing effects flood the internet. Amelia Weaver's miraculous recovery on medical marijuana

When 18-month-old Amelia Weaver caught the flu, her mother took her to see the doctor. Amelia had her first seizure in the pediatrician’s office.

“Watching my baby have a seizure was the scariest experience of my life,” mother Angie recalls. At first, it seemed a one-time episode. A year passed. Three-year-old Amelia was walking, talking, learning her letters, and counting up to 20.

Late one morning, the Weavers woke up to silence from their daughter’s room. It was strange. Amelia would usually be their alarm clock. They found her in her crib, in the throes of another seizure. Four more would follow in quick succession as the Weavers rushed Amelia to the hospital.

Patients increasingly relying on medical marijuana for quick relief

But someone living in one of the many parts of Oregon that plan to ban recreational marijuana sales would be greatly inconvenienced by the quarter-ounce limit.

“Cannabis is unique in that it’s brought to market in a high-value dried flower form that loses value and weight as it evaporates, and it requires very unique inventory tracking in order to maintain a clear chain of custody and to prevent diversion”. “The actual potential investment in the cannabis sector in New York is small because the market will be small”. If you are serious about networking and learning how to succeed in the cannabis industry, this event is going to be a must.

Sanford hospital patient denied medical marijuana lotion

SANFORD — Eric Chipman doesn’t hide his medical marijuana use, which he says best treats the lasting effects of a severe accident he was in 40 years ago.

So, during a two-week stay at Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford, Chipman told his doctors he was rubbing a marijuana-based lotion into his skin that relieves pain better than the narcotic drugs he tries to avoid. After making that disclosure, however, Chipman was told by hospital officials he was in violation of hospital policy and must remove it from the property.

The loss of his medicine slowed Chipman’s recovery, he said, because of pain and inflexibility that makes it harder to do physical therapy sessions and gain back the strength he needs to care for himself and get in and out of his wheelchair.

Five people with PTSD are bringing a lawsuit against Colorado over its decision not to allow their condition to be treated under the state’s medical marijuana program, even though the substance is already legal in the state for recreational purposes.

The plaintiffs include four war veterans and one victim of sexual assault who filed the suit on Wednesday and asked that a judge overturn the Colorado Board of Health’s July decision.

First Medical Marijuana Dispensary In Las Vegas To Open Tomorrow

A lot of marijuana industry members have had their eyes on Las Vegas for a long time. Medical marijuana dispensaries are set to open all over Nevada in the near future, and all of them will be able to sell to tourists from other states that are valid medical marijuana patients in their home states. Considering how many tourists visit Las Vegas, it could become the medical marijuana sales capital of the world fairly quickly. The first dispensary to open in Nevada was in Sparks, but the first medical marijuana dispensary in Las Vegas will be Euphoria, which opens its doors tomorrow. Per Marijuana Business Daily:

Marijuana can kill cancer cells, says US government-funded research

The US government has thrown its weight behind the earth-shattering claims that cannabis kills cancer cells.

Everyone from hippies to conspiracy theorists and even several creditable scientists have previously argued that smoking or ingesting the herb can have medicinal benefits.

Cancer kills up to 20,000 people worldwide every day, according to global health estimates.
Health researchers for the US government claim that cannabinoids - the active ingredients in cannabis - can inhibit the illness by causing cell death and blocking key blood vessels needed by tumours to grow.

They say studies in mice and rats show cannabinoids may be able to kill cancer cells - while still protecting normal cells.
