'Give yourself flowers' and other cannabis events in Manitoba this February

Since many of us are struggling through those winter blues, looks like we could all use a little green!

Whether you’re looking to plan a fun night out or learn something new, here are some cannabis-centric events taking place in Manitoba in February.

Van der Pop: Give Yourself Flowers: Potpourri Edition

Free admission, registration required — only 10 seats per session

Come join Van der Pop, a female-focused cannabis brand, and learn about cannabis and how to shop the right kind for you. The hour-long session concludes with a free potpourri-making workshop where you can take home a fragrant batch of dried flowers!

Feb. 10, 2:30-5 p.m., University of Manitoba’s Tier Building in room 306, free admission

The University of Manitoba’s Department of Political Studies is hosting a free public lecture where Christian Sinclair, Onekanew (chief) at Opaskwayak Cree Nation, will be the speaker. The event will focus on the opportunities and challenges of cannabis and Indigenous law.

Impairment (Cannabis) and Workplace Safety

This beginner workshop is designed for employers, managers, supervisors and safety officers who are new and confused about the world of cannabis. Attendees will learn about cannabis impairment and its effect on a worker and the workplace, and how to deal with cannabis in the workplace post-legalization.
