Legal cannabis in Canada is leading to a lot more growth than just flowers and leaves. The recreational and medical marijuana industries are laying some deep roots across the country, and no place is that more true than here in Toronto.

While the province’s largest greenhouses might be well outside the city limits, the companies that own them are finding a home in Toronto’s corporate culture.

We’ve rounded up five of them offering work in the Big Smoke, so get that resume ready.

The Supreme Cannabis Company

Who: Supreme is a cannabis company dedicated to producing smaller batch, high-quality cannabis to consumers. Run by CEO John Fowler, they own 7ACRES, a company known for partnering recently with Wiz Khalifa’s US-based cannabis business to develop a Canadian version of the eponymous Khalifa Kush.

Jobs: In Toronto and the GTA, the company is currently seeking a Communications Manager, Investor Relations Manager, Licensing Manager, and Manager Category & Consumer Insights.

Canopy Growth Corporation

Who: Canopy Growth Corporation is the largest cannabis company in the world, by market cap. While headquartered in Smith Falls, Ontario, the company currently employs over 700 people and is currently looking to fill numerous positions in Toronto and Scarborough at Canopy, as well as its subsidiaries Tweed and Spectrum Cannabis.

Jobs: Open positions include Global Regulatory Affairs Associate, Senior Communications Advisor, Senior Procurement Specialist, Associate Brand Manager, Research Associate, shop lead, and more

More: Canopy has been rapidly expanding over the past year. While there are a number of positions in Ontario available, the company has market share of a large portion of the cannabis industry in countries across the globe, the opportunities don’t stop in Canada alone.

Aphria

Who: Aphria, a company that bills itself as ‘powered by sunlight’, is a licensed producer of medical cannabis. While most open positions are for their facility in Leamington, Ontario, there are a few right here in Toronto.

Jobs: Currently in the 6ix there are open positions for Manager of Business Integration, Marketing Manager (International Markets), Director of Innovation, Director of Innovation, Jr. Graphic Designer, and more.

Who: Aurora Cannabis Inc. is a cannabis company with an “industry-leading reputation” for setting the global cannabis industry standard. Based in Alberta, they have grown into a global company, with affiliates and partnerships around the world of legal cannabis.
