Why Technology Should Be Everyone's Job

As any analyst, accountant, marketer, or designer will tell you, technology often feels like the No. 1 bottleneck to efficiently achieving our tasks. Non-technical team members are always waiting on a report, the implementation of a new tracking pixel, the creation of a new landing page, or the addition of a tool to automate a manual task.

As the Chief Marketing Officer at my previous company, my primary task was to ensure maximum return on our dollars spent. To achieve this, I needed the ability to track every click, see the visit conversion to our site from other sources, and determine where we were losing people at various stages of the conversion funnel (from page view, to add to cart, to conversion). I also needed to see real-time analytics on these actions, as well as create detailed reports to determine the health and performance of our marketing campaigns.
