Marijuana plant limits begin today in Pueblo County

PUEBLO COUNTY -

If you live in an apartment or duplex, the limit is 12. For a single family dwelling, it's 18. And if your property is zoned for agriculture or industry you can grow a maximum of 36 marijuana plants in Pueblo County. Those are the new limits put in place by County Commissioners last year for anyone who chooses grows marijuana without going through the regulatory process of becoming a licensed commercial grower.

The new home-grow marijuana plant limits apply to all non-licensed cannabis cultivation, including medical marijuana caregiver grows. County Commissioner Sal Pace said in a news release Thursday that Pueblo County is the first in the state to issue marijuana plant count limits under the authority of new regulatory powers granted to counties with the passage of Senate Bill 14 back in May.

"This is to protect the citizens of Pueblo and direct industrial grows into the regulated market place," Pace said....
