POT IS IN for a big change. As more states legalize the herbal commodity, the companies selling it will find themselves in stiffer and stiffer competition with one another. Of course, where there’s competition, there’s marketing—and where’s there’s marketing, there’s branding.
Leafs by Snoop, Snoop Dogg’s brand new line of cannabis goods, is the latest entry to the young market, and it’s been branded by a pro. The look comes courtesy of Emily Oberman, a partner at Pentagram and the go-to graphics designer for shows like Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. The suite of products includes actual nuggets of the plant, a couple cannabis extracts, and a ton of chocolates and candies—but you’d never know it from Oberman’s packaging, which looks like it belongs to an artisanal candle company, or Mast Brothers chocolate.
