The Government does not seek to bypass the proposed bill for the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes in Colombia.
The health minister, Alejandro Gaviria, denied that the government is legalizing the medicinal use of marijuana. But he acknowledged that he issued a decree to regulate the production of products based on the substance.
"It's a form of agribusiness that sells legal products, such as ointments, creams and oils marijuana is legal, many of them already have health registration or can have it," said Gaviria.
The minister said that the government does not seek to bypass the bill currently before Congress proposing that the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes in Colombia is approved.
