Weed For Warriors' Cross-Country Campaign for Cannabis

It’s estimated that over a quarter million US veterans currently suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, and heartbreakingly, an average of one veteran per hour commits suicide. What’s worse, the VA’s solution to this thus far has been to prescribe cocktails of psychoactive prescription drugs, including dangerous SSRis (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) and addictive opiates, typically leaving these wounded warriors worse off than before.

As anyone who’s attended one of our Cannabis Cup panels on Veterans and Cannabis knows, there’s a more natural and effective way for these suffering soldiers to relieve their insomnia, depression and chronic pain without all of the expense and negative side effects of pharmaceuticals—cannabis. The problem is, the VA is legally forbidden from recommending or even discussing this option with its patients, and the medical research desperately needed to support this medicine's efficacy remains blocked by red tape and ignorance.
