Snoop Dogg's Cannabis-Focused Venture Capital Fund Is Called Casa Verde Capital

In February, TechCrunch reported that Calvin Broadus, aka Snoop Dogg, the famous rapper, was getting into the venture capital business, raising $25 million to launch a fund focused on investing in cannabis startups. Now, we know the fund’s name.

filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday lists Snoop Dogg as the managing member of a Los Angeles-based VC fund called Casa Verde Capital, L.P. The filing defines Casa Verde Capital as a VC fund and discloses that it is looking to raise $25 million from outside investors, with no minimum investment. To date, however, Casa Verde hasn’t raised any money, the filing shows.

Casa Verde, when translated from Spanish to English, means ‘green house.’
