Obama may veto historic Republican vote on medical marijuana and hemp

June 3, 2015, the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives approved the Rohrabacher-Farr Amendment which would defund the Justice Department's ability to interfere with states that have passed medical marijuana laws. Specifically, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) would not be able to arrest or bother Americans who are abiding by state law for operating a business involved in the medical marijuana industry. This did not go over well with the White House which is threatening a veto.
